The entire 2018 Peugeot 308 range has been revealed in new official images, along with some new details (for Europe at least) of the company’s small hatch and wagon.

Headlining changes on the design front include the more upmarket look of the GT-Line, GT and GTi models now featured across all of the 308’s specification grades – which in overseas markets also includes Access, Active and Allure.

All versions now get projector headlight clusters with integrated LED daytime-running lights, along with a horizontal-slatted front grille with the company’s standing lion badge residing in the centre. Entry-level models get halogen headlight bulbs, while higher grades get full-LED units.

The entire range now also gets LED tail-lights as standard, featuring the company’s signature ‘three claw’ signature (above) which is now “constantly turned on” as rear daytime-running lights.

Revised bumpers front and rear complete the revamped exterior, along with new alloy wheel designs ranging from 16- to 18-inches on core models.

Ten body colours will be available globally, with a new Pyrite Beige replacing the previous Aluminium Grey. Exclusive to the 308 GTi hot hatch is a duo-tone finish that combines Magnetic Blue and Perla Nera Black.

Inside, the 308 benefits from revised cabin materials, and a new touchscreen infotainment system which can be specified with Tom Tom satellite navigation, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

As previously reported, the new 308 will offer the company’s latest driver assistance technologies like high-speed autonomous emergency braking (AEB) up to 140km/h, active lane departure warning, driver attention monitor, automatic high beam, speed sign recognition, adaptive cruise control with stop/go function, active blind spot monitoring, a 180-degree rear-view camera system and an automatic parking assistant.

Revised engines also feature, including a range of turbocharged petrol and diesel units. The 308 GT diesel also gets a new eight-speed automatic transmission sourced from Aisin.

Finally, the updated 308 GTi (above) has been detailed for the first time, after a single image of the French hot hatch was leaked on Twitter by the company’s Spanish arm.

The facelifted model will only come in higher-output ‘270’ guise – as opposed to the previous two-pronged 250 and 270 strategy – and comes standard with a Torsen limited-slip front differential, 19-inch alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, 380mm front brake discs with red Peugeot Sport brake calipers, along with 268mm rear discs.

Peugeot claims the 308 GTi can sprint from 0-100km/h in six seconds flat, while only using 6.0L/100km on the combined cycle. Unique interior appointments include sport bucket front seats and a sports steering wheel, along with the aforementioned ‘Coupe Franche’ duo-tone paint comprising of Magnetic Blue and Perla Nera Black (pictured).

The company is looking to move more upmarket in the near-future, and says the updated 308 is one of the first steps it’s taking to achieve that goal – thanks to the addition of new technologies and classier styling.

We’ve contacted the newly-appointed local distributor for the PSA Group, Inchcape, and are awaiting a response regarding local details for the updated range. Stay tuned for an update.
