If Quantum Entanglement Is Weird To You – Entangled Time Will Blow Your Mind

“We choose to examine a phenomenon which is impossible, absolutely impossible, to explain in any classical way, and which has in it the heart of quantum mechanics. In reality, it contains the only mystery.” Richard Feynman, a Nobel laureate of the twentieth century (Radin, Dean. Entangled Minds: Extrasensory Experiences In A Quantum Reality. New York, Paraview Pocket Books, 2006)

Renowned quantum physicist Niels Bohr once said, “if quantum mechanics hasn’t profoundly shocked you, you haven’t understood it yet.” And it’s true, quantum mechanics is confusing to say the least. For those of you who don’t know, quantum mechanics is the study of ‘reality’ at the smallest possible levels. Basically looking at matter at ‘quantum’ scales. What’s confusing about quantum mechanics is that the laws governing it differ drastically from classical physics.

Take the quantum double slit experiment, for example, in this experiment, tiny bits of matter (photons, electrons, or any atomic-sized object) are shot toward a screen that has two slits in it. On the other side of the screen, a video camera records where each photon lands. When scientists close one slit, the camera will show us an expected pattern, as seen in the video below. But when both slits are opened, an “interference pattern” emerges — they begin to act like waves. This doesn’t mean that atomic objects are observed as a wave (even though they recently have been observed as a wave), they just act that way. It means that each photon individually goes through both slits at the same time and interferes with itself, but it also goes through one slit, and it goes through the other. Furthermore, it goes through neither of them. The single piece of matter becomes a “wave” of potentials, expressing itself in the form of multiple possibilities, and this is why we get the interference pattern. Not only until we bring measurement into the equation does it decide to act differently.

The experiment has been used to show the role consciousness plays on physical matter.

“Observations not only disturb what has to be measured, they produce it. . . . We compel [the electron] to assume a definite position. . . . We ourselves produce the results of the measurement.”Dr. Dean Radin, From A paper published in the peer-reviewed journal Physics Essays explaining how this experiment has been used multiple times to explore the role of consciousness in shaping the nature of physical reality)

It’s one of multiple quantum experiments that has shown the relationship between consciousness and our physical material world. In fact, the very laws of quantum mechanics were formed based on its close relationship with consciousness. Max Planck, the theoretical physicist credited with originating quantum theory — a feat that won him the Physics Nobel Prize in 1918 — offers perhaps the best explanation for why understanding consciousness is so essential: “I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness. We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulates consciousness.”(source)

Is a physical biological entity even required for consciousness to exist?

The double slit experiment is used by physicists to explore the role of consciousness in shaping/affecting physical reality. The dominant role of a physical material (Newtonian) universe was dropped the second quantum mechanics entered into the equation and shook up the very foundation of science, as it continues to do today.

Distinguished Scientists Gather To Emphasize: Matter Is Not The Only Reality

Physicists Examine Consciousness & Conclude The Universe Is Spiritual/Immaterial & Mental

This is the realm of non-material science, something that hundreds of scientists are now gathering to emphasize, that matter is not the only reality, and the laws that govern physical material matter at quantum scales really paint a different picture about reality.

My main interest here is the undeniable fact, and this is not a mere interpretation, is the connection that consciousness has to our physical material world, and how quantum physics is also intertwined with parapsychology, (telepathy, remote viewing, etc.)

The laws we think govern our universe and the nature of reality, classical mechanics, is no longer an adequate way to explain the nature of reality. Why we cling and hang on to it is a mystery to me.

“The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.” ― Nikola Tesla

Quantum Entanglement & Entangled Time

Recent research has taken quantum entanglement out of the theoretical realm of physics, and placed into one of verified phenomena. An experiment devised by the Griffith University’s Centre for Quantum Dynamics, led by Professor Howard Wiseman and his team of researchers at the university of Tokyo, recently published a paper in the journal Nature Communications confirming what Einstein did not believe to be real: the non-local collapse of a particle’s wave function. (source)(source), and this is just one example of many.

Quantum entanglement: a phenomenon that Einstein thought was so “spooky” that there was no way it could be valid, posits that the “space” between physical objects isn’t actually empty space as our senses perceive it to be, but rather, that either information is travelling faster than the speed of light, or even better, instantaneously with no “time” involved.

Most physicists believe that it’s impossible to travel faster than the speed of light, so most likely, this type of transmission seen with quantum entanglement could very well be instantaneous, suggesting that there is no ‘space’ between objects, that somehow, everything is all interconnected.

A new study in the journal Science shows how scientists were able to produce entangled photons on a satellite orbiting 300 miles above the planet and beam the particles onto two different ground-based labs that were 750 miles apart, all without losing the particles’ strange linkage.

According to the Washington Post, “it is the first time anyone has ever generated entangled particles in space, and represents a 10-fold increase in the distance over which entanglement has been maintained.”

So, things in this area are definitely getting exciting, but quantum entanglement is not just something we’ve seen despite the “distance” between objects, but, it’s also something we’ve seen regardless of time…If that makes any sense.

This kind of thing is so mind altering that Einstein called it “spooky.” Einstein and his co-authors showed how entanglement leads to what’s now called quantum nonlocality, the eerie link that appears to exist between entangled particles. If two quantum systems meet and then separate, even across a distance of thousands of lightyears, it becomes impossible to measure the features of one system (such as its position, momentum and polarity) without instantly steering the other into a corresponding state.

Entangled Time

Quantum entanglement refers to the connection that is maintained across ‘space,’ but this phenomena has also shown that it also occurs across time.

A team of physicists at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem reported in 2013 that they had successfully entangled photons that never coexisted.

Previous experiments involving a technique called ‘entanglement swapping’ had already showed quantum correlations across time, by delaying the measurement of one of the coexisting entangled particles; but Eli Megidish and his collaborators were the first to show entanglement between photons whose lifespans did not overlap at all.

Elise Crull, an assistant professor in history and philosophy of science at the City College of New York, explains:

“Previous experiments involving a technique called ‘entanglement swapping’ had already showed quantum correlations across time, by delaying the measurement of one of the coexisting entangled particles; but Eli Megidish and his collaborators were the first to show entanglement between photons whose lifespans did not overlap at all.”

The data shows the existence of quantum correlations between ‘temporally nonlocal’ photons, which means  entanglement can occur across two quantum systems that never coexisted.

“What on Earth can this mean? Prima facie, it seems as troubling as saying that the polarity of starlight in the far-distant past – say, greater than twice Earth’s lifetime – nevertheless influenced the polarity of starlight falling through your amateur telescope this winter. Even more bizarrely: maybe it implies that the measurements carried out by your eye upon starlight falling through your telescope this winter somehow dictated the polarity of photons more than 9 billion years old. Lest this scenario strike you as too outlandish, Megidish and his colleagues can’t resist speculating on possible and rather spooky interpretations of their results.”

The delayed choice/quantum eraser experiment is another one that has also been demonstrated and repeated . For example, Physicists at The Australian National University (ANU) have conducted John Wheeler’s delayed-choice thought experiment, the findings were recently published in the journal Nature Physics. (source)

In 2007 (Science 315, 966, 2007), scientists in France shot photons into an apparatus and showed that their actions could retroactively change something which had already happened.

“If we attempt to attribute an objective meaning to the quantum state of a single system, curious paradoxes appear: quantum effects mimic not only instantaneous action-at-a-distance, but also, as seen here, influence of future actions on past events, even after these events have been irrevocably recorded.” – Asher Peres, pioneer in quantum information theory (source)(source)(source)

So, basically, nothing makes sense!

What is seen as the quantum scale is said not to apply at the classical mechanical scale. For example, a tiny piece of matter may experience teleportation from one location to another, but it’s not like a full physical body or object would. Or would it? Perhaps we simply have yet to understand the connection between the quantum scale and the classical scale? Evidence suggests we might already understand it, research into black budget programs and comments from ex Lockheed Martin directors, and many more, suggest that quantum mechanics is being utilized to operate crafts that can perform unthinkable maneuvers.

Cases of mind influencing matter have also been reported throughout history and across many cultures, more specifically in regard to ‘supernormal’ abilities which include telepathy, psychokinesis, and other phenomena that lie within the realms of parapsychology. This is evident in ancient literature, from the Vedic texts and the yoga sutras, to Jesus, Moses, Milarepa,  Mohammed and declassified defense documents. You can read more about that here.

There are many discussions to be had, but what attracts me to quantum physics is the consciousness aspect, as pointed out by most, if not all of the founding fathers of quantum physics, that consciousness and quantum physics go hand in hand.

“I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness. We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulating consciousness.”  –  Max Planck, theoretical physicist who originated quantum theory, which won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1918

It just goes to show how powerful something like consciousness and non material science can be in transforming our world, and suggests that change really does start with you, and your inner emotional state, how you react to things, and what type of energy you choose to put out there!
