Mark David Chapman is the man responsible for the murder of the great John Lennon, who was, of course, one of the founders and the driving force behind perhaps the most legendary band in the history of music, The Beatles. On December, 8th, 1980, Chapman stalked and shot John Lennon outside of Lennon’s apartment building in New York City. Chapman shot Lennon four times in the back and remained at the scene of the murder until police arrived and arrested him. At the time of his arrest, police found Chapman reading a copy of the famous book The Catcher in the Rye. Along with the mass suicide, Jones was responsible for the murder of Congressman, Leo Ryan. Additionally, Jones ordered the death of four other in the capital city of Guyana, Georgetown.
